Old Bank Hotel News - Feb '17

We are halfway through a two year programme to update all the bedrooms and public areas at the Old Bank. So far, we have given thirteen bedrooms and the hotel lobby a new updated look with the remaining bedrooms being completed by May 2018.

You may have noticed that Quod has a brand new bar, kitchen and outside Italian style terrace. I trust you will agree that the repositioned onyx topped bar in the heart of the restaurant is nothing less than sensational!

Our Old Bank private dining and meeting rooms will be joined by a completely remodelled Gallery, our largest space for special occasions and business meetings/conferences. We are installing the very latest technology and have even included all you would need to preview the film you have just made!

We have recently obtained planning permission for a spectacular rooftop bedroom and terrace which will overlook the seventy five listed buildings on the High and take in most of Oxford’s famous skyline, including the spire of St Mary’s Church, the Radcliffe Camera, the Sheldonian Theatre and All Souls College quad, just to name a few. We are confident that this flagship bedroom will become famous in its own right as the only place you will be able to lie in bed, press a button and wake up to the very best views in the world.

We have also received planning permission to restore the most amazing medieval barn located at the back of the hotel at the entrance to our carpark fronting Magpie Lane. We are confident this unique building will become a fabulous venue for a wedding, special party or meeting.

All of these ongoing improvements will ensure that our independent and very individual hotels and restaurants stay at the forefront and remain synonymous with all that is best in the city of Oxford. It goes without saying that we are very excited about the future…
