Our resident guide, art historian Isabella Underhill is now ready to offer bespoke group tours in partnership with her husband William, an Oxford graduate & qualified city guide.
Isabella has lived & worked in Oxford for much of her life. After attending school in the city, she studied History of Art & Italian at University College London, & worked for many years in publishing.
She has also attended the University of Venice & co-written a book on the collections of Catherine the Great for the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg.
In 2007 she returned to her native city for the education of her two daughters & took up the role of our hotel guide two years later.
William Underhill has enjoyed a long career in journalism. He was formerly a London correspondent for Newsweek & now works part time for The Week magazine. Like Isabella, he is a member of the Oxford Guild of Guides.
They would be delighted to share their intimate knowledge of Oxford with groups of any size, whether for tours of a single day or longer.
Please let us know if you would like just to explore the city or if you are coming with a particular purpose in mind: our guides can organise a tailor-made package to match your interests.
